Worm Castings. Real Soil. Honest Shitz.
Welcome to Shitz & Wiggles Worm Co., a family-run worm farm in Middle Tennessee turning everyday waste into worm castings, the richest and most natural fertilizer on Earth.
We believe composting should be funny, simple, and sustainable!
Rooted in Tennessee’s Cedar Glades
Our story starts right here in the unique cedar glade ecosystem of Middle Tennessee, where limestone, clay, and shallow soil make gardening a challenge — and native plants thrive in unexpected ways.
After spending thousands on topsoil and struggling to build compost in a treeless yard, we found a better answer: vermicomposting — using worms to turn food scraps into healthy, living soil.
As a lifelong fisherman, I already knew worms were useful.
But after seeing how fast they transformed waste into nutrient-rich worm castings, I was hooked. What started as a backyard experiment became a mission to help others grow stronger plants, naturally.
Organic: Why Worms Don’t Care
When we first started, we thought we should make “organic worm castings” like the big guys.
But here’s the catch — most perfectly good food scraps out there aren’t certified organic.
So what were we supposed to do? Throw away good food waste just because it didn’t have a label? Not a chance.
Here’s the truth: worms don’t care about labels — they care about balance, moisture, and consistency. They’ll happily turn banana peels, lettuce scraps, and coffee grounds into rich, living soil.
At Shitz & Wiggles Worm Co., we stopped chasing “organic” and started chasing impact. Because sustainability isn’t about perfection — it’s about regeneration.

Beyond Compost: Our Big, Wiggly Dream
At Shitz & Wiggles Worm Co., we’re not just building a worm farm — we’re building a future.
Our dream is to create a nature camp and outdoor learning retreat where kids, families, and nonprofit groups can get their hands dirty, unwind, and reconnect with the world beneath their feet.
We want to offer a place where people can slow down, explore, and learn by doing — whether that means feeding worms, planting native flowers, or baiting a hook at the camp pond.
It won’t be your typical summer camp; it’ll be a “get messy, laugh hard, and learn a lot” kind of place where curiosity and creation come alive.
And here’s the best part:
A portion of every bag of worm castings, every subscription, and every sale goes directly toward making this dream a reality.
When you buy from Shitz & Wiggles, you’re not just growing healthier plants — you’re helping grow a space where people can learn, laugh, and fall in love with the natural world again.
Because to us, “giving a Shitz” means giving back — to the earth, the next generation, and the communities that make this all possible.
